Im thinking of adding another computer to my desk, but i dont want two keyboards and two mice since my desk will be crowded. Instead, I was looking if there was a device that I can control both computers with one keyboard and mouse, and a toggle button for me to switch on either computer.
Additionally, if this is possible, I also wanted to share files with the two computers. They are connected in the same network. What is the best way to share files, that downloading or opening files wouldnt be slow?

Yes, you need to buy a KVM switch. About $20-30 for a 2-port switch.

A KVM switch will allow you to control both computers with one keyboard/mouse.
You can get a USB network cable. That will allow you to share files accross both computers. If both computers have a network card, then you can get a crossover cable.
Do you know what a KVM switch is? (It simply stands for "Keyboard -Video-monitor-Mouse", and allows you to control multiple computers with only one keyboard or mouse. There are lots of good brands of this type of switch. The larger ones can control up to 8 or 12 computers (those are the expensive ones); the others can work with two or three computers, and can sell for under $100 (or even less). Check out the major computer stores in your area, or go online to the many merchants who sell computer equipment and peripherals online.
