Connecting 2 computers via wireless adapters?

I have dell inspiron with wireless adapter built in running Vist home premium and a compaq 6027 with a wireless usb adapter running XP home edition .

I would like to be able to play games with another person on one of them.

How do I set up both computers for this

Ad-Hoc

Also referred to as an 鈥渦nmanaged鈥?or 鈥減eer to peer鈥?wireless network 鈥?it consists of each device connecting directly to each other. This will allow someone sitting outside in the garden with a laptop to communicate with his desktop computer in the house and access the Internet.

To complete the network and provide connectivity to the Internet, Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) will be enabled on the host.

Example "laptop to laptop" or "laptop to PDA"

Hi. You will need a wireless access point (built in to some routers such as the Linksys WRT54G) and a wireless connection for each computer, which you already have. There may be a way to go right from machine to machine but I do not have that info.
