Need help with ipod changing computers?virus protection software
First, back up all of the music on your old computer (burn to disks, transfer to jump drive or external hard drive, etc.)
On your new computer, download and install iTunes and import the backed-up music files into iTunes.
If you have any music that you obtained from iTunes Music Store, you will need to Authorize your new computer. To do this, in iTunes, go to Store| Authorize Computer. This will authorize the new computer to play and upload the iTunes music. You may also want to Deauthorize your old computer, Store | Deauthorize computer, to ensure that you do not exceed your limit of authorized computers (5).
Once all of your music is in iTunes on your new computer, you can connect your iPod to the computer and all should be fine.
Add.: If the music files are no longer on the old computer, you will need third-party software to rip the music from the iPod to the computer. When my hard-drive crashed, I used a program called Music Rescue to do this, it cost about $20. If you use this method, do it before downloading or installing iTunes. The music won't be wiped from the iPod if iTunes is not on the computer (though it will read "Updating, Do Not Disconnect).
The music will be ripped onto your hard drive, and you'll be able to import the files into iTunes. Just follow all the instructions listed above (except for the backing up, of course).

you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer...see http://www.ipodtocomputer.net for help..get ipod to computer transfer, it's a shareware cost $20..it can copy songs, videos and playlists from ipod to pc only 2 clicks, works great for me.
