Network neighborhood question. I have 2 old computers and I need to move files from my small compute

to my big computer. Both of these computers are on the same modem. Can that modem be used as a router? How do I set up my network neighborhood? Thanks!

It's easy to setup two computers to use the network neighborhood, but it helps to know which version(s) of Windows you're using. Generally, though, you need to:

1) make sure all the computers are assigned to the same workgroup. From Windows 95 on, this was done through the properties sheet of My Computer.

2) make sure there's a common username on each PC.

3) make sure there's at least on shared folder on each PC that you can copy data to/from.

4) once those steps are done, the two computers should be able to see each other through the network neighborhood, allowing you to connect from one to the other. Once you make the connection, you should see the shared folder.
