Deep rumbling sound in all computers?

I was wondering what is making this sound? The electrical signals being transmitted??I had no idea.

Its not the fan or the hard drive whirring around, nor the slight hum of the computer thats allways present, its the rumbling like noise that you get when you computers doing a strenuous task, or your just loading a program or something.

If you are talking about the sound a computer makes when it is actively doing something, then it is the hard drive. The hard drive not only spins, but has an arm on the inside that swings back and forth to read the information off the platters. In this photo it is the silver arm over the gold platter.

Some hard drives will make more noise than others. Newer laptop hard drives are almost silent, while older desktop drives can be quite loud.

Some newer hard drives can even be set to make less noise, or perform faster. This is sometimes set in the computers BIOS, or in additional software from the manufacturer.

That would be your hard drive. Older hard drives are much louder as they process things. Newer hard drive are built to run smoother and process faster so that rumbling sound is less. Nothing to worry about.
Chances are the sound you're talking about is a noisy hard-drive. It's certainly not present in ALL computers -- it's the hard drive seeking the information it needs to run your program. Do a defrag -- you'll see what I mean.
quite often this is your hard drive problem - had it myself, waited too long to buy an external hard drive to back up my data and I lost all my stuff on the hard drive.
