My kids (12 and 13) are asking for computers for xmas. We currently have one (PC) that the family shares for everything. They need it for homework, internet, ipod and digital cameras. I need 2 because they would never share, so budget is limited.
Option#1: Best Buy runs adds for eMachines for under $500.
Option#2: Mini Mac -starts around $599 before adding monitor, keyboard etc.
Option#3????

laptops @ wal mart. $400 or less
Why not buy them an Abacus?
bestbuy has some computers package deals that are $400 and they are "good computers" for kids.
If you have great experience with eBay and are wise to bad sellers on them, check out computers on eBay- I once bought a $1200 laptop for $600 and it was brand new and worked great. So for a desktop pc, it should be somewhat cheaper.
